Dental Tech Laboratory was founded in 1994, by Andrew Jakson. Started as a two employee lab, Dental Tech originally produced crown and bridge restorations for approximately 15 Buffalo area dentists.
Throughout the 1990’s, the laboratory grew at an even rate, increasing product offerings and enhanced services for crown and bridge and ultimately relocating to a larger facility in Amherst, NY which accommodated the growing product line and growing technical staff.
In 2002, looking to provide Western New York dentists a one stop hometown lab for all of their restorative needs, Dental Tech expanded into the removable prosthetics market.
With a commitment to the local dental industry and passion to provide unsurpassed service and quality, Dental Tech Laboratory continued its controlled growth strategy, steadily increasing value added services and technical manpower. This successful growth, ultimately lead the lab to yet again search for a new home.
In late 2004, with a growing workforce and full service product line, Dental Tech Lab began construction of on a state-of-the-art, 15,000 sq. ft. facility in suburban Buffalo, NY
The anticipated relocation to Dental Tech’s new home was to be tragically delayed however, when a fire in an adjoining warehouse destroyed the new facility only weeks before the move in February 2005.
Undaunted, Mr. Jakson and the rest of the Dental Tech team committed to rebuilding, and after months of tireless work the company realized its goal and took occupancy of the advanced lab facility in January 2006.
Located adjacent to the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport and New York State Thruway, the modern facility is convenient to these major logistic hubs and among its amenities, incorporates spectrum corrected lighting for truer shade matching capabilities, a multi-media training and seminar room and on-site operatory.
By early 2007, the independently owned, full service laboratory had grown to 40 employees, with 30 of these being experienced technicians averaging 20 years experience offering personalized service over 300 clients ranging from single offices to large clinics. This commitment to service and quality soon caught attention outside the region as well, and talks began in mid 2007 with nationally recognized lecturer and trainer in esthetic restorations, Mr. Lee Culp, CDT.
Initially, Mr. Jakson enlisted Mr. Culp to present his highly regarded training sessions to the technical staff. Ultimately, the two formed a partnership and as a result, we are proud to introduce Evolution Dental – the next step in our commitment to providing world class service, esthetics and value to clients both here in our hometown as well as doctors across the country.
Today, Dental Tech/Evolution offers solutions to accommodate all levels of esthetic and restorative budgets allowing our doctors to choose what fits best for their practice and their patients.
